Job Purpose:
To be responsible to develop IRM’s South, Central America (SCA excl. Mexico) customer insurance sales organisation and its results worldwide in accordance with IRM London EVP and/or SVP management instructions, placement processes and strategy and in close cooperation and alignment with DHL BU’s. Focus is on the sale of customer insurance or extended liability terms (SVP) and conditions to direct DHL customers and prospects. This may involve personal active sales calls to potential clients in accordance with regional, national activities & targets.
To maintain and develop existing business, products, solutions with clear focus on wining market share with BU’s and their clients in order to achieve outstanding growth and risk transfer worldwide.
Maintain and develop relationships with the underwriting team of IRM in London, where required with local (fronting) insurer and IRM insurance partners. Ensure right products are developed and available at all digital and analogue points of sale per customer segment and/or DHL BU.
To ensure IRM Customer Sale Organisation will efficiently train and support the customer insurance sales force and relevant staff within the DHL BU’s in customer insurance matters enabling sales.
Closely cooperate and align claims handling requirements following customer insurance sale with the IRM SVP SCA Claims London so after sales services are of outstanding experience to DHL BU’s and/or their customers.
To conduct customer product and sales trainings, introduce an effective sales performance reporting, maintain effective management of internal and external meetings
Ensure compliance with local (insurance & tax) laws and regulations when conducting customer insurance sales globally and the commercially and legally correct selection of the customer solution (Cargo Insurance vs. SVP)
Your tasks:
Together with the business units build a SCA customer insurance sales and distribution organisation within your region
Increase both Customer Insurance sales premium & placement of number of policies
Regular trainings, sales and support to regional and national IRM Customer Insurance sales departments, all BU’s and develop way of embedded insurance sales within your region
Ensure product uniformity of customer insurance product group worldwide and its ancillary processes, new product development for customer segments such as but not limited to wine and spirits, perishables, IP, healthcare
SCA insurance market relations and solution development for IRM for facultative product placement of solutions outside captive appetite
Implementation of IRM sales approach and training scheme on customer insurance
Overall relationship management and development wit BU’ sales and operations and management
Target setting customer insurance sales with BU’s
IT System development and integration for customer insurance services, sales, documentation and claims, its constant adjustment of such system and its functionalities in accordance with IRM Global management strategy
DHL intranet content and community management on customer insurance materials
Compliance with all local laws and insurance & tax regulations, advice DHL in each country of service what licenses, registrations or product type is required to be 100% compliant when offering customer insurance to DHL customers in conjunction with IRM head of insurance regulation, Tax compliance
CI/SVP Sales P&L overview (Sales Revenues, penetration rates, EBIT & loss ratios at BD and DHL level)
CI/SVP Global and local sales trend analysis
CI/SVP Monthly dashboard reporting for BD’s
Global and local CI/SVP data review & operational follow up
Global BD strategy alignment & relationship management on quarterly calls
CI/SVP Pricing guidance within insurance parameters provided by Insurance Program Managers
Global and local BD marketing support
CI/SVP sales training alignment & tools
External Customer Workshops
CI/SVP global and local training tool development & execution

Your profile:
Education Level
University degree in business administration, insurance or economics
Experience Level
5-10 Years of experience in leading a SCA (cargo) Insurance Sales and business development organisation with a logistics company or an insurer or SCA broker
Is familiar with global cargo insurance program structure and experience in managing corresponding fronting insurance arrangements and distribution networks
Knowledge of the transport or freight forwarding business and the sale of cargo insurance, track record of having grown business premiums and volume
Solid technical knowledge in marine cargo insurance and claims, product clauses and design as well as pricing
Actual sales experience at some point in the past professional career in front of customers with the aim to win business
Advance personal computer skills and demonstrated competency in using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
