We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Business Analyst (12 months contract) with specialised knowledge in capital markets, particularly in structured products, foreign exchange (FX), and precious metals, to join our Middle Office Technology team. This role represents a unique opportunity to shape the evolution of critical middle office platforms by driving the integration of robust technological solutions aligned with evolving business and regulatory demands. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of financial market knowledge, technical proficiency, and analytical thinking, with a proven ability to act as a trusted supporter of the Product Owner and a swift intermediary between business stakeholders and IT delivery teams. The focus will be on enhancing and modernising core operational systems, with particular emphasis on API-driven architectures, data flow optimisation, system interoperability, and end-to-end process automation within the middle office landscape.   Note: This will be a 12 months contract role with an external agency payroll provider. KEY FEATURES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering Partner closely with front-office, middle-office, operations, architecture, and technology stakeholders to analyze, design, implement, deliver, validate, and formally document comprehensive IT solutions. Ensure full coverage of key functional domains in the Middle Office area, regarding Structured Products, FX, and Precious Metals, including: product setup and configuration; trade capture; lifecycle event management (e.g. corporate actions, barrier monitoring, redemption); fee accruals and distributions; position reconciliation; control frameworks; and billing/invoicing processes. Assess current-state operating models, map end-to-end workflows, identify performance bottlenecks and control gaps, and recommend scalable, future-ready solutions that align with organizational objectives and digital transformation priorities. Data & System Integration Expertise Conduct in-depth analysis of existing system interfaces, payloads, and data exchanges across integrated platforms. Document granular field-level mappings and dependencies. Review and catalogue relevant database schemas, table structures, relationships, and usage patterns to support impact assessments and solution design. Model and document integrated workflows encompassing user interfaces, APIs, backend services, and databases. Lead the definition of solution specifications, including detailed functional designs, interface contracts, and non-functional requirements. Develop clear, traceable solution artefacts such as requirement specification documents, test strategies, end-to-end test cases, architectural blueprints, and implementation roadmaps. Collaborate proactively with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and Development Teams to ensure technical feasibility, scalability, and adherence to enterprise architecture principles. Regulatory Compliance & Governance Oversight Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations Uphold the highest standards of professional conduct in accordance with the industry and internal group policies. Embed principles of integrity, transparency, and due diligence into all aspects of project execution. Proactively identify and assess risks associated with proposed changes, ensuring adequate mitigation measures are defined and implemented. Support compliance initiatives by validating that new or enhanced systems meet legal, regulatory, and internal control requirements. Champion best practices in conflict-of-interest management, data privacy, and operational resilience throughout the project lifecycle. YOUR PROFILE SKILLS REQUIREMENTS Professional and Technical Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a business analysis, systems analysis, or equivalent role within capital markets, preferably in private banking or wealth management. In-depth understanding of Structured Products , including product setup, booking logic, and key lifecycle events (e.g. barrier monitoring, early redemption, coupon payments, corporate actions). Solid knowledge of middle office functions such as product setup controlling, lifecycle management, position and balance validations, fee calculations, invoicing, and reporting. Proven experience in agile environments , working collaboratively with development teams using Scrum or SAFe methodologies. Ability to read and interpret C# code , enabling effective capacity to specify change requests and collaboration with developers. Proficient in SQL for data extraction, validation, and analysis; able to query and interpret database schemas and table relationships. Skilled in handling data interchange formats , including JSON and XML , particularly in the context of API messaging and system integrations. Strong hands-on experience with API-based solutions , especially RESTful services and event-driven architectures using Kafka , applied to middle office or trading platforms. Understanding of OTC derivatives workflows and associated risk and control considerations is considered beneficial. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities , with a structured approach to identifying inefficiencies and proposing scalable, future-proof solutions. Experienced in compiling, documenting, and managing business requirements, producing artefacts such as functional specifications, process maps, test scripts, and solution design documents. Personal & Interpersonal Attributes Holds a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field. Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage given the multinational environment. Capable of working autonomously and proactively within a global, matrixed team structure, taking ownership of tasks and driving initiatives forward. Demonstrates a positive attitude, strong motivation, and dedication to achieving team and organisational goals — willing to “go the extra mile” when needed. Strong collaborator and team player, adept at building relationships across functions, including Front Office, Operations, Technology, Compliance, and Risk. Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at various levels — from operational users to architects and product owners. Able to thrive in a fast-paced, regulated environment, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
