Role Highlights Job title: Logistics Specialist Department: Global Manufacturing Organisation Location: Espoo Reports to: Kim Henriksson Permanent / Fixed term / Internship: Permanent Remote / Hybrid / Office: Hybrid (occasional traveling) Employment is subject to applicable security screening (incl. SUPO) Why this role matters The mission of the Logistics Specialist is to ensure the timely, compliant, and efficient delivery of critical infrastructural components to ICEYE’s global production and site locations. This role sits at the heart of ICEYE’s global manufacturing expansion. You will manage complex international logistics operations, including import and export activities, customs clearance, regulatory compliance (including EAR-controlled items), and freight coordination across Europe, the US, the Middle East, and Asia. In addition to logistics execution, you will support the procurement of non-strategic infrastructural components required to build and scale ICEYE’s global manufacturing capabilities — from cleanroom infrastructure to high-tech production equipment. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role requiring independence, curiosity, and strong regulatory understanding in a fast-changing global environment. Who We Are ICEYE delivers space-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities to governments and allied nations. This includes sovereign and turnkey ISR missions leveraging ICEYE’s world-leading synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite technology, as well as access to data from the world’s largest SAR satellite constellation. These capabilities enable partners to detect and respond to critical changes anywhere on Earth with unprecedented speed and accuracy – day or night and in any weather, supported by ultra high-resolution imagery and high-frequency revisits. As a trusted partner for defense, intelligence, security, and maritime domain awareness, ICEYE’s near real-time data creates a tactical advantage for mission-critical operations. Designed for dual use, the platform also serves civil protection and commercial users for natural-catastrophe intelligence, insurance, maritime monitoring (including oil-spill detection), and finance, contributing to global security and community resilience. ICEYE is headquartered in Finland and operates globally across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. We have more than 900 employees, united by a shared vision: improving life on Earth by becoming the global source of truth in Earth Observation. Your day-to-day responsibilities Plan, arrange, and follow up international shipments between ICEYE sites and external vendors Manage end-to-end import/export processes, including: Customs clearance, License applications, Regulatory documentation, Compliance with EAR and other applicable export control frameworks Coordinate with multiple global freight forwarders and act as the business relationship owner Proactively identify country-specific import/export requirements and ensure full compliance Support procurement of infrastructural and non-strategic components in line with project needs Maintain up-to-date shipment and status reporting for internal stakeholders Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and infrastructure teams Occasionally support physical shipment handling (packing and dispatch preparation) Travel internationally approximately once per month to support site operations and projects Expected Outcomes Success in this role means: Infrastructural components are delivered to ICEYE sites on time and in full All shipments are compliant with applicable customs, export control, and regulatory requirements Required licenses are secured proactively without delays Freight forwarder relationships are effectively managed and optimized Infrastructure procurement needs are fulfilled accurately and on schedule Stakeholders have full visibility into logistics status and risks What We’re Looking For Required Experience 5+ years of experience in international logistics, supply chain, or freight forwarding Proven experience managing complex global logistics projects Strong hands-on experience with import/export operations and customs processes Experience handling EAR-controlled or otherwise regulated materials Experience coordinating shipments between the US and EU, and exports to Middle East and/or Asia Experience working with multiple freight forwarders and managing external vendor relationships Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) Technical Skills Deep understanding of global logistics and customs processes Knowledge of export control regulations (especially US-origin goods) Understanding of supply chain processes and procurement fundamentals Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills Ability to independently research regulatory requirements across jurisdictions Nice to Have Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing Experience in infrastructure or site expansion projects Finnish language skills (advantage) Application Process Initial Interview with the Talent Acquisition Partner Hiring Manager Video Interview Take home assignment Onsite interview Key Competences In addition to the requirements above, we evaluate candidates on these key qualities throughout the hiring process: Intellectual Firepower: Rapidly comprehends, structures and synthesizes complex information, draws accurate conclusions, and communicates them with clarity.
