Egypt Education Platform is excited to invite applications for the position of PE Head of Department for the academic year 2026-2027 at GEMS British International School of Madinaty . We are looking for a passionate and dedicated leader to drive the vision for physical education and promote a culture of health and fitness within our school community. Key Responsibilities: Provide leadership and direction for the PE department, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality physical education program that aligns with the school’s goals and the British curriculum. Develop, implement, and evaluate innovative and engaging PE curricula for all year groups, promoting active participation and skill development. Support and mentor PE teachers, facilitating professional development, sharing best practices, and fostering a collaborative department culture. Monitor student progress and assessment within the department, using data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes. Organize and oversee intra- and inter-school sports events, competitions, and extracurricular activities that promote student engagement and school spirit. Ensure the health and safety of students during physical activities, maintaining high standards of risk management and equipment usage. Promote understanding and awareness of the importance of physical fitness, well-being, and healthy lifestyle choices among students and staff. Collaborate with other departments to integrate physical activity across the curriculum and support initiatives that enhance student well-being. Stay updated on current trends and developments in physical education and sports, implementing innovative teaching strategies and methodologies. Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus. A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in physical education, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Strong knowledge and understanding of physical education curriculum and pedagogy. Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and support a team of educators. Highly organized, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A passion for promoting physical fitness and well-being among students. Commitment to professional development and fostering a positive learning environment.
