SUMMARY: The Para-educator position will support students in one of the following areas: Autistic, Emotional, Instructional, Learning, and Life Skills Para-educators work on student days following T/ESD school calendar year Typical scheduled hours for Elementary: 8:30-4:00p / Middle School: 8:15AM - 3:15PM / High School: 7:30-3:00 Position schedule may vary depending upon assignment 11 paid holidays & 7 days of paid time off (pro-rated based on start date) The hourly pay-rate for Para-educator is $20.81 per hour PARA-EDUCATOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the special education teacher, implement IEP's, and behavioral plans. Provider assistance to students in regular & special education classrooms in completing tasks assigned by teachers Supervise children in the hallway, lunchroom and playground Assist the teacher in observing, recording and charting behavior Observe behavior and carries out behavior management activities EDUCATION / EXPRIENCE: Minimum of two-years of post secondary education (48 college credits) Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred CREDENTIALING : (Clearances current within 12 months) * Paid clearances & TB screening! PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance PA Department of Education FBI – Use code 1KG6XN TB Screening - current within 3 months Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
