Propulsion Engineer (Propulsion Design - Air) Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Associate Fuel Systems Design Engineer (Level 2) to join our Propulsion Engineering Team based in Long Beach, CA .  As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, integration, certification, and fuel tank safety of commercial airplane products. The Fuels team in Long Beach primarily supports out-of-production airplane models, while also providing assistance to production and development programs. This role requires frequent collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams, customer support groups, suppliers, and regulatory agencies. Key Responsibilities: Develops design solutions to address Service Related Problems for in-service airplanes. Defines and develops requirements for fuel systems, distribution systems, and associated components. Collaborates with other engineering disciplines to successfully integrate with other aircraft systems and structures. Performs engineering and certification tests to validate fuel system design complies with requirements. Supports Customer Requests by providing engineering support for various fuel system repairs. Takes ownership of safety items and provide technical solutions to support Boeing’s customers. Performs applicant responsibilities for repairs and major changes that require FAA approval. Performs detailed engineering reviews of supplier changes. Authors technical documents including certification deliverables, Record Summaries, design guides, and other engineering reports. Performs technical project management for various fuel system projects. Works under general supervision with a sense of urgency. Presents technical topics and solutions to various review boards. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.  Experience using CATIA/ENOVIA, Model Based Definition, GD&T, or 2-D drawings. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):   1+ years of experience in propulsion or fuel systems design for commercial or military aircraft. Experience in fuel systems architecture, requirements, or design. Experience working fuel systems repairs for commercial or military operators. Familiarity with Boeing or FAA safety processes. Fault Tree Development or FMEA experience.
