Support, maintain and monitor big data cloud-based technologies and applications including ETL tools, data repositories and databases as well as data pipeline components under Group Application Data Platform against SLAs as agreed with various business stakeholders. Manage the team of data platform support agents to ensure BAU support provided according to SLAs set with various business stakeholders. Key responsibilities Responsible for maintaining and optimizing big data cloud-based systems and applications. Able to work and implement advanced monitoring and metrics to provide operational rigor and oversight for all levels of business expectation. Analyze and troubleshooting issues related to big data cloud-based systems and applications under Group Application Data Platform. Develop and manage diagnostic and instrumental tools for troubleshooting and in-depth analysis Continuously refine and improve of Data Analytics platforms and systems May require standby and work during weekend to meet the critical business reporting timeline and/or data needs Support / Standardize Ensure that existing guidelines, standards and best practices are followed and applied to development projects Take ownership for issues to reach resolutions to prevent recurrences Troubleshoot and resolve production issues under tight deadlines Proactively identify the impact of potential process changes, integrate new initiatives with existing processes, and ensure that all processes are consistent and fit together. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managements, business users, expertise from other technical areas, and peers Able to work independently and strong problem-solving skill. Minimum Job Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT or other relevant discipline. Experience: 5+ years IT work experience in database platform support role e.g. Platform Engineer, DBA and/or Data Platform Engineer. Tertiary qualification in ANY of the following: Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or Maths/Statistical Technical skills: Azure Big Data Cloud Technologies experience is a mandatory requirement Solid understanding and some practical experience in: 2 years of experience in object-oriented programming languages, like Python, Java, and Scala. Advanced SQL skills and relational database management. Experience with Hadoop/MapReduce/Pig/Hive/EMR/Redshift for large data processing Experience in managing Data Analytics tools such as PowerBI and Alteryx. Cloud computing certifications/licenses – Azure certification could be an advantage. Soft Skills Excellent language and visual skills for producing well-structured technical documentation and operational procedures in English Able to communicate English. Knowledge on ITIL processes Strong customer focus with excellent client engagement, verbal and written communication skills.
