The Role As a Forward Deployed Engineer for Agentic AI at Kyndryl, you are the bridge between business problems and innovative solutions, using a powerful blend of well-defined methodologies, statistics, mathematics, domain expertise, consulting, and software engineering. You'll wear many hats, and each day will present a new puzzle to solve, a new challenge to conquer. You will dive deep into the heart of our business, understanding its objectives and requirements – viewing them through the lens of business acumen, and converting this knowledge into a data problem. You’ll collect and explore data, seeking underlying patterns and initial insights that will guide the creation of hypotheses. IN this role, you will embark on a transformative process of business understanding, data understanding, and data preparation. Utilizing statistical and mathematical modelling techniques, you'll have the opportunity to create models that defy convention – models that hold the key to solving intricate business challenges. With an acute eye for accuracy and generalization, you'll evaluate these models to ensure they not only solve business problems but do so optimally. Additionally, you're not just building and validating models – you’re deploying them as code to applications and processes, ensuring that the model(s) you've selected sustain their business value throughout their lifecycle. Your expertise doesn't stop at data; you'll become intimately familiar with our business processes and can navigate their complexities, identifying issues and crafting solutions that drive meaningful change in these domains. You will develop and apply standards and policies that protect our organization’s most valuable asset – ensuring that data is secure, private, accurate, available, and, most importantly, usable. Your mastery extends to data management, migration, strategy, change management, and policy and regulation. Advanced Architecture Design Design Generative AI systems leveraging GANs, VAEs, and transformer-based models for content synthesis, simulation, and data augmentation Architect Agentic AI frameworks using Lang Chain, Hugging Face, GCP Agent space, Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, and vector databases to enable autonomous problem-solving and adaptive learning Implement Agentic Mesh ecosystems where AI agents collaborate dynamically, combining language, behavioral, and domain-specific capabilities 2. Model Optimization & Innovation Develop novel techniques for LLM/SLM fine-tuning, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and context-aware prompt engineering Optimize inference performance for real-time applications using MLOps pipelines and cloud-native deployment using native PaaS Lead R&D initiatives in neurosymbolic AI, mechanistic interpretability, and ethical guardrails for autonomous systems 3. Strategic team player Collaborate with high-performance teams to deploy AI systems that redefine industry standards (e.g., healthcare diagnostics, financial forecasting, supply chain resilience). Qualifications Strong experience in AI/ML engineering, data pipelines, and model deployment. Hands-on expertise with Agentic AI and GenAI frameworks . Proficiency in Python and cloud ML platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP). Ability to convert business challenges into technical hypotheses and deliver solutions. Familiarity with distributed systems, microservices, and data governance. Preferred Skills and Experience Experience delivering enterprise-scale AI projects. Contributions to open-source AI frameworks. Certifications in cloud ML platforms. Background in consulting or customer-facing solution delivery. This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program. Salary : $66,240 - $112,560 The above represents Kyndryl’s pay range for this role. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role. The range provided reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Kyndryl’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
