We’re looking for a Sales Executive who enjoys relationship-based selling, values autonomy, and is motivated by both growth and earning potential—while representing a brand that carries real credibility in the market. Why This Role Sell with confidence knowing the business is backed by continued investment in tools, technology, and talent Competitive compensation with a $60,000 base salary and total earning potential of $90,000–$140,000 Autonomy to own and grow your territory, supported by a trusted national brand and robust sales resources A balanced selling environment that combines virtual engagement with meaningful in-market broker relationships The Impact You’ll Make Build and execute a territory sales plan to grow profitable small-group business Develop and deepen consultative relationships with independent brokers and agencies Create demand for group life, disability, and supplemental health solutions Educate producers on products, tools, and The Hartford’s value proposition Maintain a strong pipeline that supports consistent, sustainable results Position The Hartford as a long-term partner—not just a carrier What Success Looks Like 2–5 years of insurance or related sales experience, with group benefits or agency exposure preferred Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and closing skills Ability to work independently while staying aligned with team and business goals Comfort conducting high-volume virtual sales conversations Organized, self-motivated, and customer-focused approach to selling Location & Licensing Must reside within the Carlsbad / San Diego / Imperial, California market Accident, Health & Life Insurance license required (or obtained within first three months) This role will be Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday) in one of our office locations. This enables you to have the flexibility you need while ensuring you are working with your peers and leaders in the office as you develop your skills, collaborate, build relationships and grow your career with The Hartford. Compensation The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
