About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 11 The Team: The Metadata Platform Management team, part of Enterprise Data Management Platforms, drives foundational organizational and operational change across S&P Global’s data ecosystem. The team leads the firm’s data discovery, open data, and AI‑ready metadata strategy, partnering globally to modernize how enterprise data is governed, integrated, and consumed. This team sits at the intersection of advanced technology, data governance, and business enablement. Responsibilities and Impact: Lead the technical management, configuration, and strategic direction of S&P Global’s enterprise data catalog, architecting innovative metadata solutions that enable enterprise-wide data transformation Design and implement scalable integration approaches to onboard metadata from multiple siloed catalogs and data dictionaries across the organization Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Knowledge Engineering, to develop metadata models, perform catalog capability assessments, and establish governance frameworks Provide technical leadership and mentoring to development teams while coordinating with vendors to deliver advanced knowledge graph and metadata technology solutions Architect, document, and promote best practices for large‑scale metadata migrations, ensuring consistent standards, policies, and governance across the enterprise Drive innovation in metadata management by leveraging emerging technologies to improve data discoverability, usability, and strategic value for stakeholders What We’re Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience Proven experience managing or architecting enterprise metadata platforms, data catalogs, or related data management solutions Strong technical understanding of metadata modeling, data governance concepts, and large-scale data integration patterns Experience working with cross‑functional, globally distributed teams in a complex enterprise environment Core Skills & Attributes: Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance for technical and non‑technical stakeholders Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills Analytical mindset with a problem‑solving orientation Demonstrated leadership capability and ability to mentor technical teams Additional Preferred Qualifications: Experience with knowledge graphs, semantic technologies, or AI‑enabled metadata platforms Hands‑on experience with metadata migrations or consolidation of multiple data catalogs Familiarity with vendor‑managed enterprise data platforms and SaaS integrations Experience defining enterprise data standards, policies, and governance frameworks What’s In It For You?
