Job Purpose: The Project Engineer will support the engineering, construction, and project delivery of onshore projects, ensuring all engineering outputs meet stringent safety, quality, and operational standards. This leadership role involves strategic collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to drive project success from inception through commissioning, with a focus optimizing project processes. Job Responsibilities Strategic Project Oversight:  Support the planning, scheduling, and execution of on-site engineering activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives, budgets, and timelines. Technical Leadership:  Provide technical review of engineering designs, plans, and specifications; ensure solutions align with industry best practices and project requirements. Cross-Functional Leadership:  Coordinate effectively with project management, procurement, construction, and safety teams to streamline project delivery and resolve complex technical issues. Risk Management & Troubleshooting:  Proactively identify potential project risks; develop mitigation strategies and address technical challenges swiftly to maintain project momentum. Quality & Compliance:  support quality assurance initiatives; uphold safety, environmental, and regulatory standards across all project phases. Stakeholder Engagement:  Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams; effectively communicate project status, risks, and mitigation plans. Continuous Improvement:  Drive lessons learned, process improvements, and innovation to enhance project efficiency and quality. Technical Skills Extensive experience in execution of engineering for large-scale onshore oil and gas projects. Deep comprehension of industry standards, codes, and best practices applicable to oil and gas project execution. Proven expertise in construction methodologies, commissioning, and operational handover processes. Soft Skills Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Ability to influence and lead multi-disciplinary teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. High adaptability, resilience, and proactive approach to challenges and changes in project scope or conditions. Knowledge of Arabic language is a must Qualifications Masters or Bachelor’s in Engineering or a related discipline; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) are advantageous. Minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience in onshore oil and gas projects, emphasizing and project execution. Proven track record of projects with a focus on safety and quality. Work Environment This position will be based on-site in Iraq, engaging with international and local teams. The role emphasizes leadership in fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing work environment, with a focus on mentorship, safety culture, and stakeholder relations.
