The Team and Role: The Lead Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the mechanical design and development of the entire product category, from initial product design through to successful mass production. This role requires expertise in 3D molding and the application of scientific approaches and analysis tools to create robust mechanical designs suitable for high-volume mass production. Additionally, the engineer must ensure that product features meet cost, schedule, reliability, regulatory, and safety objectives. Responsibilities also include collaborating with various teams and suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturability and functionality.   Your Contribution: - Develop and document complex mechanical parts and assemblies, ensuring they meet quality and cost objectives. - Partner with manufacturing teams and suppliers to optimize designs for mass production. - Lead the development and qualification of plastic tooling, including design debug. - Collaborate with global teams to ensure seamless product development. - Resolve mechanical engineering issues and challenges. - Play a key role in ensuring the final design aligns with specifications for reliability, manufacturability, and functionality. Key Qualifications: - 10+ years of experience in mechanical design and development of high-volume consumer electronic products. - Strong knowledge in plastic, injection molding, tooling, assembly processes, and cosmetic finishes. - Proficient in 3D modeling, particularly with Creo. - Solid problem-solving skills and understanding of risk management. - Advanced knowledge of quality tools like FMEA, DFMA, and Tolerance Analysis. - Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to guide and mentor junior engineers. - Excellent command of English, both written and verbal. - Expertise in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. - Strong prototyping skills and understanding of engineering testing. - Ability to take initiative and work creatively and independently. - Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. #LI-AL2/104 Across Logitech we empower collaboration and foster play.
