Position Summary The Senior or Staff IT Engineer, End User Computing & Lab IT plays a critical hand-on role supporting endpoint management platforms and services across the enterprise, manufacturing and lab environments. This position is based in our San Diego office and reports directly to the Senior IT Manager of End User Computing & Lab IT. This role is open to either the Senior or Staff level, depending on experience, technical depth, and demonstrated impact. The engineer will contribute to the design, implementation, automation and ongoing reliability of endpoint and client platforms while partnering closely with global IT and business stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Endpoint Engineering and Platform Support Provide advance engineering support and administration for managed endpoint platforms and services including Microsoft Intune, SCCM, and Jamf. Support endpoint provisioning, configuration and lifecycle management across corporate, manufacturing and lab environments. Design, implement and maintain standardize configurations that meet operational needs. Own the deployment, management, and lifecycle of applications, operating systems, and software deployment packages across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android platforms. Automation and Scripting Develop and maintain PowerShell (and/or Bash) scripts to automate endpoint provisioning, configuration, and routine operational tasks. Design and enhance automated deployment pipelines to ensure consistency, scalability and operational efficiency across environments. Troubleshooting and Technical Escalation Serve as an escalation point for complex endpoint and client platform issues following initial triage. Diagnose and resolve issues requiring deep technical analysis across OS, applications, identity, and device management layers. Project Delivery and Operations Lead or contribute to projects with accountability for scope, timelines, documentation, and technical outcomes. Balance project work with operational responsibilities in a fast‑paced, evolving environment. Participate in a follow‑the‑sun on‑call rotation supporting global operations. Collaboration and Influence Collaborate with IT and business project teams, including IDS End User Services and Information Security, to strengthen working relationships and expand networks across the organization. Partner with cross-functional teams on global initiatives, bringing deep knowledge of endpoint security across laptops, desktops, and mobile devices and utilizing ServiceNow integrations for asset, incident, and workflow management. Required Skills and Experience Hands-on experience managing Microsoft Intune, SCCM and Jamf for endpoint provisioning, and application deployment. Strong experience with Windows and macOS endpoint platforms in enterprise environments. Proficiency in PowerShell (or equivalent scripting) for automation and configuration management. Proficiency with Active Directory and Azure, including OS provisioning, software packaging, image management, GPOs and configuration profiles. Working knowledge of Jamf for Apple device management. Familiarity with AWS Workspaces, Microsoft Azure Services, Virtual Apps and Desktops. Experience supporting endpoint environments integrated with manufacturing or lab systems is highly valued. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a customer-focused mindset. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across distributed teams. Qualifications Experience with automation design, process engineering, or solution architecture. Bachelor’s degree in these related fields with 10+ years of experience in enterprise environments (Preferred) Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience. Preferred certifications: Microsoft, AWS, Jamf, Service Now, ITIL Work Authorization Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
