The role   is responsible for   ensuring high availability, performance, security, and operational excellence of our production database platforms that support key business applications.     This position requires hands ‑ on   expertise   in PostgreSQL internals, AWS Aurora operations, monitoring, performance tuning, and strong automation skills.     What You Will Do     Operate,   monitor , and   maintain   our AWS Aurora PostgreSQL   environment   Optimize   database performance using query analysis, execution plans, and indexing strategies   E nsure disaster recovery readiness   Configure PostgreSQL parameters, extensions, and support efficient   database usage   Implement monitoring and alerting using CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and related tools   Automate operational tasks using scripting and infrastructure-as-code practices   Collaborate with application, cloud, and platform teams to improve reliability and scalability     What  We’re  Looking For    Technical skills   Strong experience administering PostgreSQL in production (vacuum, WAL, tuning)   Strong h ands-on   expertise   with AWS Aurora PostgreSQL: cluster management, failover, parameter groups   Ability to diagnose performance issues with   pg_stat_statements , execution plans, and Aurora metrics   Strong SQL skills with proven experience in query optimization   Experience with AWS   monitoring   tools: CloudWatch Logs, Enhanced Monitoring, Performance   and Log   Insights   Proficiency   in automation/scripting   Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation)     Preferred   experience   Working with large-scale, high-throughput database systems   Experience with indexing strategies, and performance benchmarking   Background in   operating   highly available   distributed architectures   Prior involvement in incident management and root cause analysis   Exposure to compliance, auditing, and secure database operations   Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Git-based   workflows   Practical experience in   cloud based   AWS   production environments supporting   and developing   scalable, global   services. based       Soft   skills   Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset   Clear, concise communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences   Ability to work independently in a production-critical environment   Proactive approach to   identifying   improvements and preventing issues   Strong collaboration skills across engineering and product teams   Structured, methodical working style with attention to detail   Ownership mentality and commitment to reliability     Education   and   certifications   Bachelor’s or   Master’s degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field   PostgreSQL certifications (e.g., EDB PostgreSQL Associate/Professional) are a plus   AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Database – Specialty or AWS Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional are highly valued   Training or coursework in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, or data engineering   Continuous learning mindset with up-to-date knowledge of PostgreSQL and AWS advancements   Explore More At KONE, we are focused on creating an innovative and collaborative working culture where we value the contribution of each individual.
