We are looking for a motivated and structured Trainee to join the KONE Door Business R&D (KDB R&D) team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to core R&D operations by strengthening the foundations of technical documentation while exploring how Generative AI (GenAI) can enhance efficiency and information accessibility. The position is designed to deliver tangible, high-impact outcomes within a defined timeframe, while contributing to KDB’s broader digitalization journey. Key Responsabilities Your work will focus on two closely linked areas: Documentation & Data Structuring (Primary Focus) Map, analyse and structure existing KDB technical documentation (e.g., manuals, certificates, declarations, drawings). Support compliance-related documentation and gap analysis. Draft, update, and organize core R&D documentation in collaboration with subject matter experts Improve consistency, clarity, and findability of technical information. Contribute to establishing a more scalable and future-ready documentation structure. GenAI as an Enabler (Secondary Focus) Apply existing GenAI tools to support document analysis, summarization, and structuring. Explore and propose practical concepts for improving internal information access (e.g., lightweight document finder solutions). I Identify realistic opportunities where GenAI can support R&D workflows. Document findings, recommendations, and potential implementation pathways. What We’re Looking For University student in the later stages of studies (Bachelor’s or Master’s), preferably in: Engineering Technology Data, AI, or related fields  Ability to work independently and deliver structured, high-quality outcomes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Interest in technical documentation, data structuring, and digital tools. Familiarity with GenAI tools at user level and curiosity to explore their practical application. Strong collaboration and communication skills. Fluent English (other languages are an asset). Nice to Have Experience with technical documentation or compliance-related topics. Basic programming, scripting, or data handling skills. Interest in AI, automation, or citizen development tools.
