Mid Level FX Trader (Contract) As a Foreign Exchange Trader based in Seoul, you will play a pivotal role in executing trades across multiple currency markets while working alongside experienced professionals who are passionate about knowledge sharing. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve pricing complex FX products, managing risk exposures thoughtfully, and ensuring that all activities align with regulatory requirements. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior colleagues, contribute ideas for new business initiatives or system enhancements, and collaborate with global teams on cross-border projects. Success in this role requires not only technical proficiency but also a genuine enthusiasm for teamwork, accuracy in reporting, and a willingness to support others’ growth within the group. Job Responsibilities: Execute proprietary and flow trades primarily on FX Swaps while providing support for FX Spot transactions across G10 and Emerging Markets. Price, execute, and hedge various FX products for both internal stakeholders and external clients by collaborating closely with global teams. Maximise profitability through prudent market risk-taking while ensuring strict adherence to established risk limits and product mandates. Support general trading activities as well as ad hoc tasks and projects as an integral member of the Seoul trading group. Guide, mentor, and share market knowledge with junior traders to foster their development within the team. Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulatory policies, standards, and business principles at all times. Demonstrate a commitment to developing robust capabilities in FX/Derivatives related to G10 and Asian currencies through ongoing learning. Prepare and deliver accurate reports to regional head office or risk control departments as required. Contribute positively to a team-oriented culture by participating actively in group discussions and decision-making processes. Job Requirements: A minimum of three years’ experience (and up to ten years) in foreign exchange trading within financial institutions or similar environments is essential for this position. A Bachelor’s degree is required; degrees in economics, mathematics or finance are particularly valued due to their relevance to quantitative analysis. Comprehensive understanding of FX/Derivatives products combined with strong quantitative skills is necessary for effective trade execution and risk management. A demonstrated motivation to learn quickly and adapt to new business opportunities or systems is highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities are crucial for interacting with clients as well as internal teams across different regions. A proven track record as a dependable team player who thrives in collaborative settings is important for contributing positively to group objectives. A healthy appetite for measured risk-taking coupled with sound judgement under pressure is expected from candidates seeking this role. The ability to remain calm under stressful or time-sensitive conditions while maintaining accuracy is vital for success on the trading desk.
