Position Overview The position requires the applicant to apply analytical and semi-empirical aerodynamic prediction tools to the design and analysis of flight vehicles. The employee will also support aerodynamic design trade studies, performance assessments, testing, and development of high-fidelity aerodynamic characterizations of flight vehicles. Basic Qualifications (required) The position requires a minimum of a BS degree in Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.25 and 2-4 years of industry experience in a related field. Demonstrated capabilities in programming languages Python or Matlab. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills. The ability to collaborate constructively within a multi-disciplinary team. Be willing to try and learn new skills, and to refine existing skills. Must be a US citizen and possess the ability to obtain and maintain a DoW security clearance. The candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area, or willing to relocate, to work on-site at the Huntsville, AL campus. Preferred Qualifications It is preferred that the candidate possesses a MS degree in Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.25 and 0-3 years of related experience. Experience with industry-standard aerodynamic prediction tools and experience in wind tunnel testing. Prior experience with computational fluid dynamics.
