At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe. The scope of Operations stretches from Procurement through conversion (distillation and maturation) and manufacturing (or bottling) to all the downstream Supply Chain activities until the final product is delivered.  In addition, Operations play a very active role in Innovation, Talent Development and Operational Risk Management. The Bottling & Blending Engineering department provides innovative solutions to Process, Re-Engineering and Continuous Improvement projects or issues with the Site Services team supporting operations in achieving required performance levels of plant and site services equipment to meet business continuity, statutory compliance and stakeholder expectations. Your unique contribution The Maintenance Support Lead will be responsible for leading and developing a team of multi-skilled engineering technicians to provide effective Engineering planned and preventative support and deliver safe, reliable and cost-efficient maintenance and repair of plant, equipment and site infrastructure. You will have four main areas of responsibility: Team Engagement: Support the develop and training of technicians and operators to deliver a step change in manufacturing performance Support plans to improve functional employee engagement results Identify technical training needs in operational areas against the competence models and facilitate adherence to annual training plans Operational Delivery: Through escalation process, provide front line, technical support to significantly improve equipment performance Lead technical root cause problem solving Take ownership and meet targets for effective Planned Preventive Maintenance, follow on work orders and Corrective Repairs and Documentation Drive continuous improvement culture Lead equipment overhauls and other initiatives within your area of responsibility in support of manufacturing excellence Improve engineering effectiveness through key performance indicators and driving improvement plans Lead weekly Asset care meetings and plan all maintenance works being considerate of plant access, resources and materials  Safety & Quality: Take the lead in ensuring that your area of responsibility complies with all Health, Safety, Environmental, Product Integrity, Quality and Risk Management Engineering requirements Proactively promote and pursue a reduction in accident and incident frequency rates Undertake audits to promote and ensure compliance with agreed standards and safe ways of working Manage contractor RAMs review, induction and on site works under permit; communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders Responsible for the upkeep of plant and equipment to ensure departmental quality standards are maintained Implement and drive Asset care principles and ways of working Continually review and administer engineering systems, procedures and maintenance practices in support of your area of responsibility to maintain and improve quality Ensure that critical spares availability and routine requirements are identified, communicated and available for your area of responsibility Ensure technical library is up to date with all information required to support the teams and ensure all new machinery is updated in advance of machine startups Cost: Ensure adhering to Control of addition to stock tool to manage our inventory stock levels Manage and control revenue, labour and CAPEX spend for your area of responsibility to agreed budget levels Deliver plant downtime and availability targets by incrementally improving asset reliability Who you’ll be working with Internally , you’ll collaborate with the wider Engineering team as well as other areas of Operations, including Continuous Improvement, Supply Chain, Bottling, Vatting, Quality and Health and Safety. Externally , you will collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure delivery of services to the highest standard.  You will also collaborate and maintain appropriate relationships with external regulatory and professional bodies, trade associations, emergency services and local authorities. Your blend of talent This position could be right for you if you: Have a recognised electrical, mechanical, or building services qualification, minimum HNC level and extensive experience working in Site / Building Services within a packaging, processing, manufacturing or FMCG environment Have experience in leading / managing direct or indirect teams, with the ability to apply coaching techniques and processes to train and develop others in the fields of lean manufacturing improvement, problem solving and diagnostic techniques. Are experienced in managing asset and plant performance within structured asset management framework and schedule through computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) Have a safety qualification (e.g., IOSH/NEBOSH) and are experienced in Safe Systems of Work, permits, and high volume contractor management Are skilled in fault diagnosis, Root Cause investigation and effectively using Asset Management Systems Our mix of benefits For your health , we offer private medical insurance, income protection and a comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme.
