On a typical day you will: A typical day in this role involves managing a range of ER cases from field engineers, technical teams, and office-based employees, ensuring fair and consistent handling of issues across a fast‑paced operational environment. You’ll spend time advising managers on complex matters such as attendance, conduct, restructures, and TUPE, offering practical solutions that balance commercial needs with legal compliance. Collaboration is key, so your day often includes working closely with HR Business Partners, coaching managers, and supporting formal meetings or hearings. You may also contribute to updating ER toolkits, reviewing policies, and maintaining strong working relationships with the recognised Trade Union to support smooth daily operations. This role requires an experienced HR professional with a good level of autonomy to set out their own case work, plan out resources needed to support managers. As well as be able to travel to support the organisation nationwide. What You Will Need to be Successful: • Broad and in depth understanding and application of UK employment legislation to the business context • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a primarily ER based role • Experience of managing a challenging ER case load in a multi-site business • Evidence of ability to communicate and influence at all levels in a business including at a senior management level • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams,) • Experience of operating in a unionized environment Qualifications: • CIPD Qualified or equivalent experience Apply today to join us and build what’s next!
