This role will sit within the Global Data and Technology Solutions (GDATs) organization in World Courier and is a key member of the leadership team. We’re re-imagining IT — not as a support function, but as a strategic partner to the World Courier business. We exist to help the organisation rise, adapt, and grow, using technology that is innovative, integrated, reliable, secure and designed around real operational needs. The Senior Director of Technology Architecture plays a pivotal role in making that ambition real. Why this role matters This role sits at the intersection of business ambition and technology delivery. We’re looking for someone who can listen deeply to the business, understand what really matters, and then guide the design of technology solutions that are practical, scalable, and future-ready. You’ll help define technology roadmaps, shape demand, and make confident technology decisions that support white-glove, global pharmaceutical logistics operations. This is a role for someone who: enjoys partnering across multi-functional, globally-matrixed teams creates innovative and pragmatic solution options works to stay ahead of technology trends can balance creating solutions for today with meeting strategic goals What you’ll do Be a true business partner As a member of the IT leadership team for World Courier, you’ll work closely with leaders across operations, quality, regulatory, commercial, customer services and finance teams to understand their challenges and opportunities. You’ll help shape ideas into clear solution options that align with business goals and regulatory realities. You’ll build lasting relationships with our vendors to help build our technology innovation road maps. Set architectural direction with purpose You’ll own and evolve our target architecture for World Courier and solution architecture for key priority projects — ensuring systems, data, integrations, and platforms work together as a coherent whole. You’ll balance today’s delivery needs with tomorrow’s strategy, keeping us secure, resilient, and adaptable. Shape demand, not just respond to it You’ll lead our architecture and analysis capability to ensure scope of work and solutions are well-defined, prioritized, and outcome-focused. You’ll challenge constructively, simplify where possible, and help the business focus on what will deliver the greatest value. You’ll be a key contributor to the annual budgeting and for short, medium and long term planning. Enable delivery, don’t slow it down You’ll partner closely with vendors, IT delivery, product, data, security, and infrastructure teams — providing clarity and guidance that helps teams move faster and with confidence. Architecture here is about enabling progress, not creating barriers. Support better decisions You’ll provide clear insight into trade-offs, risks, dependencies, and long-term impacts, supporting investment and prioritization decisions across the portfolio. You’ll be a strong storyteller who can sell the solutions that we need to develop to a non-technical audience. Experience that will help you succeed: You will have worked with one or more of the following platforms: transportation management systems, warehouse management systems, IoT and visibility platforms, customer-facing order solutions, with an awareness of enterprise-level Salesforce/CRM solutions Leading solution architecture or analysis in complex environments (20+ concurrent global projects) Strong grounding in business analysis and shaping demand Strong understanding of applications, integrations, data, platforms, and security Strong understanding of technology and technology delivery methods (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, etc.) Experience operating in regulated or operationally critical environments We value experience and frameworks — but we value mindset, judgement, and collaboration even more. You will know about key architecture and analysis frameworks and what can help and where they hold back successful delivery. What success looks like in this role?
