The Position The Opportunity This four year apprenticeship combines college-based learning with on-the-job training. You will attend college, learning the fundamentals of engineering whilst working with our engineering experts in Hospitals,  focusing on the necessary skills to prepare you for the role. These activities will be coordinated by a designed apprentice mentor. You will learn many skills, such as diagnosing faults with the equipment and implementing solutions. Alongside this you  will develop all the capabilities required to deliver best in class service. You will get the opportunity to visit our head office and state-of-the-art training facilities in West Sussex, UK to undertake Technical training under the guidance of our Certified Trainers. Following a successful apprenticeship you will have gained a recognised engineering qualification and the opportunity to apply for a permanent position within our expert engineering team, where a suitable role is available. The role holder will develop Academic and Vocational training in Electrical Instrumentation/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering. Working with the Technical Services teams to provide on site support to a wide range of Roche Diagnostics products, to deliver world class professional service. This will include (but not be limited to), installations, preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, modifications & de-installations. Who you are To apply, you will need: At least five Leaving Certificate D grades including Maths and English   A full driving licence (evidence of ongoing learning is acceptable) Candidates who already hold an engineering qualification or degree will not be eligible for this role. A passed Colour Vision Eye Test This position is open to candidates based in Leinster and the surrounding regions. Also the ideal candidates have excellent practical skills, a strong attention to detail and enjoy working in a team with good problem solving and communication skills. It’s also important to us that you have a passion about developing a career in engineering with an interest in science and desire to learn new skills.   Location and Recruitment Process This is a field-based role within the Republic of Ireland, in which you will combine on the job training around your college phases with occasional travel as needed to support business requirements.
