Job Description Global ASX 50 sustainability leader in supply chain, automation & operations excellence Own CHEP Australia’s national maintenance strategy and enable our automation future High-impact role with enterprise visibility and senior stakeholder influence Flexible / hybrid working environment About the Role As National Maintenance Manager, you will own the maintenance strategy for CHEP Australia, ensuring reliability, safety, and efficiency across the national Service Centre network while enabling the Plant Automation Strategy. You will lead a skilled team, manage national budgets, and partner across Operations, Engineering, Procurement and Planning , and Technology suppliers to ensure seamless execution and network uptime. Team & Scope Details - Total Team Size: Up to 6 direct and indirect reports across the national network. - Service Centre Network: Oversight of maintenance performance and strategy across all Australian CHEP Service Centres. - Budget responsibilities: national 3rd party labour and national R&M budget - National Influence: Works daily with Regional Operations Directors, Engineering Project Teams, Planning and Global Process Engineering. - External Partnerships: Management of national contractors, key suppliers, equipment manufacturers and technology vendors. - Operational Impact: Responsible for improving OEE, MTTR, MTBF, uptime and reliability across the fleet of equipment. What You’ll Be Doing - Own and evolve the national Maintenance Strategy toward preventive maintenance. - Lead budgeting cycles, including national labour and R&M investments. - Integrate automation and new technologies across sites in collaboration with Engineering. - Manage and negotiate with key maintenance contractors and suppliers. - Optimise the MEX maintenance system and standardise asset-care processes nationally. - Lift performance metrics including OEE, MTBF, MTTR and asset uptime. - Lead and develop maintenance teams across Australia. - Embed Zero Harm and Safe Production in all maintenance activities. What Will Ensure Your Success - Experience in maintenance or technical leadership. - Proven ability to manage large budgets and drive cost efficiencies. - Familiarity with Lean principles, TPM, PLC environments and MEX. - Strong stakeholder management across operations and engineering. - Experience working within automated facilities. - Trade or tertiary qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical or related field.
