The opportunity As a Medical Director, Gastroentrology in Immunology Early Development, you will use your immunology and clinical expertise to help advance the Immunology portfolio and support internal and external efforts across the immunology disease area. You build and implement clinical development strategy for assets, working as part of a team including pRED functions and late stage product development and commercialization, You develop and communicate clinical strategic options that consider speed, technical, regulatory, business and operational needs, You are a source of clinical and development expertise for projects in discovery, You are a matrix leader of clinical teams, ensuring high performing teams capable of progressing projects with high quality and urgency. You build and support partnering strategies and contribute to the evaluation of external partnering opportunities with clinical assessments and clinical development plans, You represent the Immunology Early Development group both internally within the matrixed pRED community and externally at conferences and international meetings Who you are: You’re someone who wants to influence your own development. You will bring the following: MD required with Board Certification (or equivalent deep disease area expertise) in gastroenterology. Clinical or research experience in Inflammatory Bowel Disease is preferred. Significant experience in clinical development, obtained in academia, large pharma or biotech. Experience in early clinical development of new molecular entities preferred. Established scientific expertise in an area of gastrointestinal research, for example through a PhD or demonstrable track record of scientific and/or clinical research. Evidence of leadership expertise, either in a matrix or line management context. The role requires a leader able to inspire diverse individuals to work together, prioritise and deliver on goals and build clinical strategy integrating input from a range of stakeholders.
