Lakewood Counseling Service Many UHP physicians have teaching responsibilities for residents, fellows, and medical students.  The UMKC SOM accepts students directly out of high school for a six-year combined baccalaureate/Doctor of Medicine program.  The UMKC SOM Graduate Medical Education program supports over 30 residencies and fellowships. Job Description University Health Physicians are currently seeking a full-time psychiatrist to join our medical staff in providing psychiatric services in an outpatient setting at our Lakewood Counseling Services location in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. This position will work with a multi-disciplinary team that includes psychologists, social workers and therapists.  Other duties will include: paid call on the consult liaison service or inpatient mental health unit and teaching of psychiatry residents and students. Participation in hospital-based committees and providing lectures to other medical specialties is encouraged.  The qualified candidate will have graduated from an accredited medical school, and completed a residency in Psychiatry.
