Senior Software System Architect – AVEVA Asset Information Management (AIM) & Integrated Solutions Department: Software Service and Delivery Location: Brisbane / Perth - Australia Reports to: Service Director - Pacific Role Overview The Senior Software System Architect is the technical authority for designing and delivering enterprise‑grade AVEVA Asset Information Management (AIM) solutions. This role blends deep AIM product expertise with cross‑platform architectural skill to create customized, integrated, and scalable information ecosystems across engineering, operations, and maintenance. Beyond AIM, the architect leverages other AVEVA products (e.g., AVEVA PI System, AVEVA APM, AVEVA Unified Engineering, AVEVA CONNECT) and commonly used enterprise platforms (e.g., SAP, Maximo, OpenText/Assai, ESRI, other historians, Azure/AWS) to craft end‑to‑end digital‑twin and information‑management solutions. The architect provides senior‑level business, functional, and technical consulting, pre‑sales support, and delivery governance for complex, multi‑solution programs. Key Responsibilities 1) Architecture Leadership (AIM‑Centric) Define end‑to‑end AIM architectures: information models, metadata standards, deployment patterns, and security design. Lead discovery, requirements validation, and fit‑gap at business, functional, and technical levels. Guide configuration of AIM gateways/connectors and engineering data ingestion patterns; establish information governance. 2) Integrated Solutioning Using AVEVA & Market Platforms Compose solutions combining AIM with AVEVA PI System (real‑time context), AVEVA APM (asset health), Unified Engineering (design data), and CONNECT (cloud visualization/data services). Design integrations with ERP/EAM (SAP PM, Maximo), DMS (OpenText/Assai/SharePoint), GIS (ESRI/Hexagon), historians (PI, IP.21, PHD), and cloud stacks (Azure/AWS). Define API/middleware patterns, interface contracts, data mappings, and validation frameworks for robust interoperability. 3) Consulting & Advisory Advise executives on digital asset information strategy, data governance, and enterprise information architecture. Develop high‑level functional designs, role models, UX workflows, and information lifecycle strategies across engineering, operations, and maintenance. Run architecture assurance reviews; recommend optimization, performance tuning, and scalability improvements. 4) Pre‑Sales & Bid Support Shape technical win strategies; lead workshops, demos, and technical evaluations. Produce architecture diagrams, deployment models, integration maps, BOMs, and proposal content. Support estimation, sizing, and risk identification for complex, multi‑solution opportunities. 5) Delivery Governance & Quality Provide architectural oversight throughout delivery; ensure adherence to best practices and security standards. Lead critical issue resolution across application, data, integration, and infrastructure layers. Mentor and enable consultants, information engineers, and offshore teams; develop reusable accelerators and templates. Skills, Experience & Qualifications Experience 10+ years in enterprise software architecture, solution consulting, or technical leadership. Hands on experience of AVEVA Asset Information Management or equivalent software. Experience in enterprise scale software integration projects. End user experience in any of the domains is added advantage: energy, oil & gas, utilities, chemicals, mining, or manufacturing. Proven pre‑sales exposure: workshops, bid responses, and technical defenses. Technical Skills AIM mastery: information model design, metadata strategy, gateways/connectors, visualization, security. Integration & development: C#, .NET, PowerShell, REST/GraphQL APIs, XML/JSON transformations. Data: SQL Server, SSIS/SSRS, performance tuning, data quality and governance. Cloud & hybrid: Azure/AWS reference architectures, networking, identity/IAM, Kubernetes/containers (nice to have). Engineering data: PDMS/E3D, SPID, DWG/DGN, tag/doc structures, and engineering BOMs. Consulting & Soft Skills Executive‑level communication and stakeholder management; facilitates C‑suite discussions. Structured problem‑solving and systems thinking; handles ambiguity and conflicting constraints. Influences technical and business decisions; leads cross‑regional teams; willing to travel APAC.
