Position :  Senior Data Scientist   Location:   Cambridge, London, Derry/Londonderry, United Kingdom (Hybrid) Employment Type:   Full-time        The job      We are seeking an innovative   Senior   Data Scientist to join our AI Investigation and Incubation team. This role will support the investigation, incubation, and development of new AI solutions to be incorporated into AVEVA’s industrial   AI   offerings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in   machine learning /advanced analytics , data science, and   industrial   applications.        Key responsibilities     Investigate and recommend algorithmic/data science solutions to industrial problems    Define and translate   ambiguous concepts into well-defined questions,   drive   analysis of complex datasets for insights , and design data-driven experiments and incubations   for   emerging AI technologies   Contribute to the design and architecture of scalable data infrastructure and analytics platforms   Collaborate with cross-functional tea ms to prototype ,   pilot   and test AI-driven solutions   Contribute to sci entific and technical publications on AI/ML   research        Essential requirement s   8 + years of experience in   data science, advanced anal ytics , ML   engineering, or equivalent industry experience   with 3+ years in hands-on   statistical modeling, machine learning,   data pipelines   and experimental design   Bachelor's   degree in C omputer Science,   Data Science ,   Statistics   or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred   Proficiency in Python, SQL,   R   and machine learn ing libr aries   Experience wit h   AI/ML techniques and best practices, including model evaluation, training/tuning, monitoring, and governance   Strong ability to translate emerging research into practical solutions   Strong   communication   and presentation   skills   and   can articulate c omplex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences     Desired skills and competencies   Experience in industrial or engineering domains   Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)   Practical experience with modern AI paradigms such as: world models, foundation models, and multi-modal language models; agent-based systems and orchestration; and context retrieval and augmentation techniques   Experience mentoring junior team members   and/ or leading   technical   projects     What success looks like   Compelling storyteller who c a n use data to influence decisions   Ability to meaningfully influence AI roadmaps and technology direction through   data-driven   work   Strong collaboration with cross-functional technical and non-technical teams           R&D at AVEVA   Our global team of 2000+ developers work on an incredibly diverse portfolio of over 75 industrial automation and engineering products, which cover everything from data management to 3D design.
