Location New York, New York Shift: Day (United States of America) Description: Undergraduate Biomedical Engineering Intern – Summer Internship Location: NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital – New York, NY Program Duration: Summer 2026 Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite/ Weil Cornell and Columbia Sites/ 2 Roles NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Undergraduate Biomedical Engineering Intern to join our Biomedical Engineering team for the summer. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting clinical engineering operations within one of the nation’s top academic medical centers. As a Biomedical Engineering Intern, you will work alongside experienced Clinical/Biomedical Engineers and Technicians to support medical device evaluation, maintenance, technology integration, and data-driven improvement initiatives across the hospital. Key Responsibilities Assist with inventory, inspection, and preventive maintenance of medical equipment. Support engineers in device testing, troubleshooting, and documentation. Collaborate with the team on equipment performance assessments and safety checks. Help update and maintain equipment databases and asset records. Participate in special projects related to equipment lifecycle management, technology upgrades, or process improvement. Shadow Biomedical Engineering staff to gain an understanding of clinical workflows and medical technology use in a hospital environment. Qualifications Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field . Completion of at least sophomore year by Summer 2026 preferred. Strong interest in clinical engineering and medical technology. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
