Position Overview The Bioinformatics Engineer II will be responsible for the analysis of data produced by assays and software applications under development by Exact Sciences and for designing and developing new algorithms and applications to support platforms and products being developed by our company. This position also entails partnering with Product Development teams on study design planning, analysis, and result interpretation and to gather requirements to develop modules to be integrated into software products. The position requires a basic understanding of data structures and files commonly used in bioinformatics and basic knowledge of statistical methods. Essential Duties Include, but are not limited to, the following: Design and implement bioinformatics analyses to support the development of novel assays, improvement of assays under development, and hypothesis testing requested Product Development and Computational Biology team. Collect and document product and software requirements and findings from analyses executed by themself and others. Design and implement software modules implementing the requirements collected from data analyses. Assist with the integration of software modules into pipelines. Manage bench-generated data and bioinformatics outputs within high-performance computing (HPC) or cloud computing environments. Design and implement software modules to automate data analyses. Prepare and provide information and data for scientific abstracts/conferences/project meetings/publications. Identify and address trends in study data. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Maintain regular and reliable attendance. Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization. Ability to work designated schedule. Ability and means to travel 10% between local Exact Sciences locations. Ability to travel 5% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or field as outlined in the essential duties. 4+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education as outlined in the essential duties. Extensive experience in Linux-based HPC or cloud computing environments and associated tools. Ability to write custom code in at least one programming or scripting language. Experience with software ticketing, progress tracking, and timeline tracking systems: JIRA, Smartsheet. Knowledge and adherence to good coding and documentation practices. Knowledge of molecular biology and/or biochemistry and/or next-generation sequencing (NGS) and genomics. Working knowledge of statistical and mathematical methods in biology/genetics/genomics, including experience with statistical software, such as JMP or R. Basic computer skills to include Internet navigation, Email usage, and word processing. Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree (PhD or Masters). 6+ years of relevant experience. Experience in an FDA-regulated environment, ideally in medical device development. Experience in a biotech manufacturing environment, preferably in an GMP and/or ISO environment. Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), and clinical and diagnostic test development. Experience with PDP (Product Development Process) and/or Cancer Genomics. #LI-BP1 Salary Range: 144 000,00 zł - 237 000,00 zł   The annual base salary shown is for this position located in PL - Warsaw on a full-time basis. This range reflects base salary only. The position may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus under applicable company plans.
