Job Description Purpose: The Assistant Director will lead the Aggies Invent and Invent for the Planet competitions as well as Student Pitch Competitions. The position also involves coaching and mentoring students and teams within the Meloy Program and is responsible for administering the Meloy Summer Internship Program. Responsibilities: Lead all phases of the Aggies Invent and Invent for the Planet competitions, including sponsor solicitation, sponsor relationship management, organizing and managing Meloy personnel to execute events, working closely with the COE MarComm team for promotional elements, and ensuring all financial aspects are well coordinated with the College of Engineering business office. Lead all phases of Student Pitch Competitions including soliciting, coaching, and accompanying students to both on-campus and off campus events. Host the Problems Worth Solving event annually, and coordinate all administrative, promotional, and financial elements. Develop and introduce additional informal monthly Meloy Pitch competitions during the aademic year. Coach and mentor students and teams within the Meloy Program, including those involved with the Engineering Incubator, the Meloy Fellows, and Innovators Programs to develop their speaking and presentation skills. Guest lecture in Meloy classes, as needed. Hold informal pop-up sessions for training and practice. Administer the Meloy Summer Internship Program by working with companies and interns. Perform other duties as assigned. What we need: Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Six years of related experience.
