Coordinates patient care to ensure safe, effective, efficient, and timely care, liaises between clinical staff and consult services, and consults with physicians and healthcare team members. Orders and evaluates effectiveness of therapeutic modalities, performs primary care procedures, and provides health maintenance including immunizations and screenings. Counsels and instructs patients and significant others on medications, diseases, procedures, and preventive healthcare, assesses and stabilizes emergent conditions, and determines patient disposition. Serves as a clinical resource through consultation, education, literature review, and participation in seminars and simulations, documents clinical encounters, and performs follow-up care. Applies, models, and teaches evidence-based treatment and care, precepts nursing students, promotes cost savings and optimal patient experience, and participates in continuous process improvement, data reporting, and scholarly projects. Serves on committees, provides presentations, and participates in staff development. Qualifications Master of Science degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year directly related experience serving as a family nurse practitioner. Required Licenses and Certifications Requires an active license as a Registered Nurse and as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse, Family Nurse Practitioner, in the state of Texas with prescriptive authority and national board certification as a family nurse practitioner. A well-qualified candidate will also possess At least five years of clinical nursing experience is required. American Heart Association - Basic Life Support Certificate. Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and electronic health records, some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access. Experience in health professions education is preferred. Familiarity with electronic health records Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of standard nursing procedures and techniques. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. Ability to use and manage an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system. What You Need to Know Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience. Location/Schedule: Crockett, Texas or Bryan, Texas locations. This is a part time PRN position with the hours of 8a-5p. The days of the week vary depending on the need of the clinic and candidate availability. Other: Depending upon the nature of your position, you may be required to receive immunizations (excluding COVID and Flu).
