The Temporary Staff Technician provides short‑term administrative and financial assistance to support departmental operations. This role performs reconciliation, payment processing, and general administrative tasks while ensuring accuracy, compliance with university procedures, and timely communication. The position is designed to meet temporary operational needs and does not include supervisory or budget authority. The role will work up to 40 hours per week; continued employment is contingent upon departmental need and funding. Serves as Campus Security Authority.   Position is located on Tarleton State’s main campus in Stephenville, Texas, limited to one day per week onsite. When working onsite, the staff technician will support scheduled administrative and financial processing activities. When not onsite, the primary focus will be reconciling and filing, with limited email communication to support assigned tasks.   Responsibilities:       Financial & Reconciliation Support Conduct monthly reviews and reconciliations of departmental accounts and maintain accurate, organized tracking files. Allocate and track research expenditures. Payments & Transaction Processing Administer payments for student workers, contract workers, guest artists, and vendors. Monitor the status of documents and workflows routed through university systems and keep the department head informed. Purchasing & Reimbursements Assist faculty and staff with purchasing submissions, reimbursements, and related documentation. Administrative Support Provide general administrative support for departmental operations as assigned.   Minimum Requirements Required Education and Experience Highschool diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience Basic knowledge of administrative or financial processes   Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to follow established procedures and meet routine deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.     All positions are security-sensitive.
