Job Description: Within the Simulation domain, the Future Capabilities team in Manching is not only shaping the future of Engineering and Training Simulators, but also preparing the base to enable the development of future platforms in an effective, rapid and modern way. Our teams provide cutting-edge solutions to the new programmes and support the development of projects from concept to production. As a Future Capabilities Simulation Engineer (d/f/m) you will design and implement complex Simulation Environments using modern coding trends, containerization technologies, and applying basic DevOps practices to create realistic training scenarios for next-generation Unmanned Aerial Systems ( UAS ). The team itself is composed of not only highly motivated and experienced Project Leaders, but also an excellent balance of junior and senior engineers. Apply DevOps and Test-Driven Developmen t principles and tools. Document and communicate simulation architectures, interfaces, and operational procedures for maintainability . Collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate sensor and flight dynamic models, as well as mission planning algorithms. Deployment, testing and validation of simulation models in real training environments. Integrate third-party libraries and API s for enhanced simulation fidelity and functionality Analyse and fix reported issues. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership within the team. Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Aeronautical Engineering related technical field preferred. At least 5 years of professional experience in Software development. Very good knowledge in modern C++ and Object-Oriented Programming principles. Very good knowledge in a scripting language (Python, Bash, Golang) Familiarity with CMake , Conan , Git and Docker . Familiarity with Linux environments. Professional level English . German would be a plus. Knowledge of UAS concepts, flight dynamics, and standards would be a plus. Proven experience with flight simulators and integration would be a plus.
