IDEXX Veterinary Software is on a mission to offer the first vertical SaaS platform for Animal Health . We’re growing our engineering tribes to tackle a range of chall enges . In this phase we ’re expand ing our Clinical , Practice Management & Client Engagement domain tribes. T he goal is to build additional squads for each and provide much needed capacity to tackle more on our technical roadmap faster , unify ing our portfolio of cloud platforms and applications.    W e’re seeking skilled Tech nical Lead Software Engineer s to join our Auckland R&D hub. You could lead one of several new squads , tackl e challenges with all touch points of elect ronic clinic al record s, focus on efficient practice management workflow or turn your hand to all things that enhance our client's engagement with their customers the pet parent.      Your focus is to lead a team delivering high quality solutions that overcome complex challenges related to our portfolio of cloud platforms and applications. We’re looking for ambitious technical expert s to run point with one of several new squads designed to boost our capacity within Clinical, Practice Management & Client Engagement domains .     We work with modern web technologies, including TypeScript, Go, and cloud-native architectures, to develop robust and maintainable solutions. With a strong focus on DevOps and automation, you'll contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and system reliability. If you're passionate about building cutting-edge applications in a fast-moving environment and enjoy working with event-driven architecture, domain-services, containerization, and distributed systems, we'd love to hear from you !     Some key responsibilities of your role:       Lead by example being a role model that engineers can look up to for guidance Create technical design documentation   Build large scale or complex projects that are fit for purpose and achieve the desired result   Build code that is beautifully crafted, highly scalable, and maintainable   Monitor, evaluate and improve projects as they are released (agile)   Write well crafted unit tests   Provide senior code reviews to ensure code that is released is robust and does not break     Refactor the low-level framework objects to improve the performance and scalability of our platforms   Contribute to high level tech stack related discussions and aid in driving our application forward   Lead collaboration with cross functional teams to better understand the broader aspects of our portfolio and collectively solve the challenges of scale   What you need to succeed:      Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer  leading quality and delivery of a team or teams of Engineers Experienced in evolving culture and process towards better engagement, agility, automated testing, and DevSecOps .    Proven technical capability with software design   Experience leading technical advancements to solve complex problems.   Experience with principles and best practices related to cloud technologies.   Experience with modern web technologies (such as React), cloud backend technologies (such as GoLang , Typescript and/or OOP languages) and cloud infrastructure platform AWS Experience with unit testing   Strong OO design patterns, modular design    Experience building and consuming modern APIs Lead or guide agile processes including Scrum, Kanban, and/or others   Previous experience in scaled SaaS environment is hugely desirable   What you can expect from us:   Structured onboarding, induction, ongoing training and transparent performance driven professional development   Rewarding salary packages including lucrative incentive schemes for all   Continuous L&D (both internal and externally)   Great tech kit for both work and personal use   Hybrid working with a great office space to collaborate - including a gym and roof top terrace !   Coffee + snacks + Food Truck Friyay several times a month!   Dog friendly office   Fully subsidized Southern Cross Health insurance   Part subsidized parking via Parkable   Career pathways that will take you places if you are willing and able   If you want work with real purpose with a growing company solving key challenges in the animal health industry with innovative cloud software, this is the opportunity for you!    So, what is IDEXX Veterinary Software?      Here in Auckland we develop a portfolio of cloud platforms and applications.
