Job Description Work Arrangement Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum . Occasional travel to Milford, MI will also be required. The Role:   The Low Voltage Infrastructure Team within the Embedded Platform Systems & Infrastructure organization is focused on the development of systems and controls centered around on-vehicle low voltage power generation, energy storage, power management, distribution, and consumption   on ICE,   EV   and PHEV vehicle platforms .   There is no better time to join this domain as we evolve to the next generation of low voltage power strategy, innovation, and capability in   current product VIP and   the next generation on   SDV2.0.   As a Subsystem Lead Engineer, your technical   expertise   in the low voltage power management domain will be   leveraged   throughout the entire vehicle development life cycle, including requirements definition, design and implementation, integration, testing, and problem resolution. Your products will be at the core of all vehicles within the General Motors portfolio and are essential to keeping General Motors at the forefront of low voltage related technologies.   Your endeavors will significantly contribute to GM's vision of a world with ZERO Crashes, ZERO Emissions, and ZERO Congestion, emphasizing the transformative impact of Software Defined Vehicle architecture .       What You'll Do:   Lead functional breakdown, requirements development, and failure analysis for low voltage power management related subsystems and ART solutions   Create and   maintain   functional and non-functional requirements in the Sub-System Technical Specification (SSTS) and Behavioral Test Specifications (BTS), using Behavioral Driven Development (BDD) methodologies   Direct subsystem design with uniform, holistic solutions across diverse vehicle architectures to reduce complexity. Coordinate with systems engineers and hardware teams to ensure alignment on interface and performance requirements   Lead triad meetings for development of solution requirements and test cases to enable quality software creation   Support the scrum team members in the decomposition and understanding of the solution or subsystem requirements as needed   Collaborate with controls and software engineers to review software implementation, ensuring compliance with requirements   Lead development of subsystem level FMEAs and collaborate on System and Component FMEAs    Engage in root cause analysis for applicable subsystem related issues, translating solutions into new or revised requirements for low voltage power management   Offer technical support for the power management related features to people internal and external to the Electric Power ART, help resolve PRTSs, share lessons learned/best practices, and capture IP/ROI’s/ etc   Support Scaled Agile Framework ( SAFe ) related planning and work acceptance meetings     Embedded Software Development Expertise:   Possess a robust experience in embedded software development with the ability to draft software requirements ensuring software independence from hardware, while understanding the underlying hardware architecture   Utilize simulation environments and plant modeling for testing or   requirements   generation. Your   expertise   in embedded software development is complemented by a deep understanding of Battery Systems, empowering you to adeptly navigate through the complexities of hardware-software interactions.       Core Values   Innovation: Embrace a culture of continuous learning and innovation   Collaboration: Foster synergistic collaboration across cross-functional teams   Customer-Centricity: Uphold the voice of the customer in all architectural decisions   Integrity:   Maintain   high ethical standards and transparency in engineering activities   Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):   Bachelor's degree   in Engineering   5+ years of automotive engineering experience related to embedded controls, requirements development, architecture development, and/or systems engineering   Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including independent judgement and decision-making skills, where problems are very unusual and extremely difficult   Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects and assignments with   a high level   of autonomy and accountability for results   Physics-based understanding of voice-of-customer   Excellent oral and written communication skills   Demonstrated ability of leading cross-functional teams, influencing without direct authority, and building relationships in difficult circumstances   Experience defining and troubleshooting interactions between hardware and embedded controls       What Will Give You   A   Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):   Master's degree in Engineering   with a focus on Controls, Electrical, Mechanical, and/or Systems Engineering.   Design experience with automotive low voltage electric power related components, controls, subsystems, and/or architectures    Familiarity with high voltage systems within electric and hybrid electric vehicles   Experience developing requirements at the system or subsystem level   Additional Information: This job is not eligible for relocation benefits.
