On our team, you will provide stellar care at one of the top healthcare organizations in the nation.   As the Nurse Manager, you will oversee operations for the SICU, ensuring appropriate staffing, maintaining quality outcomes, supporting caregiver development, and providing clinical and operational guidance in a fast-paced environment where schedules and patient needs can shift quickly. This role requires strong multitasking, problem-solving, and leadership skills to ensure smooth daily operations and deliver an exceptional experience for patients and caregivers across the Cleveland Clinic enterprise. A caregiver in this role works shifts varying between from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 a.m. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Manage the operation and practice of professional nursing and delivery of nursing care on an assigned unit.   Establish clinical direction of nursing care, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes and patient care standards.   Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care.   Supervise caregivers and promote development.   Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards.   Coordinate unit operations with other units/departments.   Develop and monitor budgets, approve purchases and establish/revise inventory quotes.  Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs.   Evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination processes and develop strategic plans.   Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities.   Direct unit participation in evaluation of new products. Approve purchases and establish or revise inventory quotes. Assist in the development and monitoring of budget. Other duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)  Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)  Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross  Three years of recent clinical nursing experience,  including at least one year of healthcare management experience  High degree of clinical expertise in the specialty area  Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process skills  Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN)  Physical Requirements: Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye and hand coordination. Requires frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking. Requires corrective vision and hearing to normal range. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
