Here, you will work alongside a passionate and dedicated team, receive endless support and appreciation, and build a rewarding career with one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the world.     As a Laboratory Technician on this team, you will review consultations from other labs, evaluate paperwork for   identifiers   and complete data entry tasks.   You will coordinate with leadership, supervisors,   Pathologists   and other lab reps to direct workflow and organize daily departmental functioning.   This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with some of the best Pathologists in the field within an innovative, constantly evolving healthcare enterprise.    A caregiver in this position works   Mon-Fri|   2 nd   shift| 3:00pm—11:30pm|   no call/weekend/holiday|     A caregiver who excels in this role will:    Receive and   accession   specimens into the LIS .   Conduct higher level   accessioning   in the LIS including esoteric testing .   Conduct   advanced tracking investigations .   Serve as a subspecialty client liaison .   Be r esponsible for   advanced problem solving/issue resolution ( pending   log/SERS/block QA) .   P erform tasks involved with   frozen section processing (frozen section slide creation) .   Cr eate cell block slides ,   perform   c linical histology tissue embedding   and   a ssist   in   C ytology adequacy assessments .   Prepare   specimens for analysi s.    Perform manual processing (centrifuge, aliquoting and routine maintenance) .   Run and resolve LIS logs .   Retrieve, sort,   track   and deliver specimens.   Perform   logistic activities within and outside of   lab .   Use tracking software/devices .   Compl y   with   safety,   SOP   & regulations .   Maintain   appropriate documentation .     Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:    Associate’s   D egree   ( preferably in   S cience )   and t wo years of lab processing experience     OR   f our years of   L ab   T echnician or comparable processing experience    OR   a ctive enrollment in the Cleveland Clinic MLS   Program       Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:    Bachelor’s   D egree in   B iology ,   C hemistry,   P hysics   or   M edical   L aboratory   S cience   Physical Requirements: Ability to perform specimen handling techniques and take measurements. Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods. Ability to move throughout the department and hospital system. Handles and transports bio-hazardous materials and potential carcinogens. Ability to differentiate color, hue, saturation, and tones. Ability to live/move up to 50 lbs.
