The H50 Colorectal Surgery Unit is part of Cleveland Clinic’s renowned Digestive Disease Institute, where surgeons perform more than 5,000 procedures each year. This high-acuity unit is known for its strong culture of teamwork, clinical excellence, and supportive leadership. We are seeking someone who excel in time management, critical thinking, and collaboration, and who are motivated to deliver outstanding patient care in a fast-paced surgical setting. A PRN caregiver in this position works day /night rotation, from  7 :00am—7:00pm or 7:00pm—7:00am.   A caregiver who excels in this role will:    Provide direct nursing care.   Implement and   monitor   patient care plans.    Monitor,   record   and communicate patients’ conditions.    Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.    Assess and   coordinate   patients’ discharge needs.     Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:    Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma,   ADN   or BSN program)   Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)   Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (must be presented upon hire)   *If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification (must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment)   External applicants   must have two   years   recent related nursing experience   Internal applicants   with less than two years’ experience but post orientation / 90 day   probationary period could be considered with Chief Nursing   Officer   level review and approval   Successfully pass all prescreen competency assessments   Will consider licensed military RN experience   Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)   Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
