Here, you will receive endless support and appreciation while building a rewarding career with one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the world.     The Pharmacy Technician – Inpatient role is based in Building C on the second floor at Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital, located between the operating room and an ICU within a busy, 256-bed inpatient setting. This pharmacy supports a high-volume operation with a team of approximately 18 pharmacy technicians, 20 pharmacists, and on-site management, and caregivers interact closely with nurses, pharmacists, buyers, and fellow technicians throughout the day. The role offers a high level of autonomy while working in close collaboration with pharmacists and includes responsibilities such as medication picking, receiving and handling narcotics, triaging workflow needs, answering phones, managing re-dispenses, and responding to the pharmacy door. The team culture is hardworking, reliable, and patient-centered, with a shared focus on accuracy, responsiveness, and delivering safe, timely medication support to inpatient care teams. A caregiver in this position works a 7-on, 7-off schedule. Wednesday through Saturday hours are 11:00am to 9:30pm, Sunday through Tuesday hours are 11:00am to 11:30pm and holiday expectations are 2-3 holidays per year.     A caregiver who excels in this role will:   Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding.   Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner.  Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.   Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training.   Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.   Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.  Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   High School Diploma or GED   Licensed in Florida as a Registered Pharmacy Technician   Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) upon or within 18 months of hire  Ability to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds   Basic computer skills   Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program   Six months of hospital experience   Prior Inpatient experience Physical Requirements: Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, walking, reaching, stretching and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing, and compounding.
