At Cleveland Clinic, you will work alongside passionate and dedicated caregivers, receive endless support and   appreciation   and build a rewarding career with one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the world.     Cleveland Clinic’s G90 Urology/Medical-Surgical Telemetry Unit is dedicated to the care of post-operative urology and overflow surgical patients and focuses on pain control, return of bowel and bladder function, DVT prevention and ambulation. Patients in this unit range in age from young   adult   to   geriatric ,   however, the most common patient population is approximately 65 years old. Some of the primary procedures performed on this unit include partial nephrectomy, radical nephrectomy, radical prostatectomy, urolithiasis, and cystectomy with continent/incontinent urinary diversion. A caregiver in this position works   nights, from 7:00pm—7:30am.       A caregiver who excels in this role will:    Provide or   assist   with patient care under the supervision of an RN , such as taking   vital signs   and   weight,   assisting   patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring   devices   and removing urinary Foley   C atheter s.   Report abnormal findings or changes in physical,   mental   and emotional conditions to an RN.    Assist   with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.      Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:    High School Diploma/GED   Basic Life Support (BLS)   C ertification through the American Heart Association (AHA)   within new hire period   (Nursing   Student req to have prior to hire)   One year of recent, full-time patient care experience    Additional   education/training may substitute for some/all the stated experience   Nursing students   who have recently completed a   minimum of one clinical rotation   as part of an accredited nursing school program may substitute the clinical rotation for the required experience   Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered     Physical Requirements: Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking. Medium Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force rarely, and/or 0 to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
