The Surgery Center is equipped with the latest surgical and   monitoring   tools, a llowing ca regiver to perform a diverse array of procedures in general,   orthopaedic , eye, g ynecologic,   head and neck, oral and maxillofacial, podiatric,   urologic   and vascul ar surge ry. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures. You will also perform scrub and circulating functions and prepare the OR, surgical   instruments   and equ ipment for   surgery .       A   PRN   caregiver in this position   works   varying shifts | 6:30am—7:00pm or 7:00am—4:30pm|   some weekends and holidays .    A caregiver who excels in this role will:    Provide direct nursing care.   Implement, monitor, evaluate,   update   and revise patient care plans.    Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.    Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.   Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.    Assess and   coordinate   patients’ discharge needs.   Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing   study .    Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:    Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing   (ADN or BSN program)   Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)    Basic Life Support (BLS)   C ertification through the American Heart Association (AHA)   or American Red Cross   *If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support ( ACLS)  through   American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment.   External applicants:   t wo years of recent nursing experience. Will consider military RN experience   Internal Applicants:   if less than two years’ experience but post orientation/90-day probationary period could be considered with Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval   Will consider licensed military RN experience   Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   Bachelor ’s   of   S cience   in   N ursing   (BSN)    Surgery experience       Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
