We are expanding with a new, Join Cleveland Clinic Main Campus and become part of one of the world’s most respected healthcare organizations as a key member of our multidisciplinary teams dedicated to providing compassionate and innovative care.  This role includes the exciting opportunity provide care in Cleveland Clinic Main Campus’ new Neurological Institute. This new, one-million-square-foot, 15-floor, state-of-the-art facility is designed to elevate care for complex neurological conditions — including spine injuries, epileptic seizures, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and stroke.  In addition to working in the new Neurological Institute, caregivers in this role will have the opportunity to provide patient care in additional areas across Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, including Cardiac, Digestive Disease, Medical-Surgical and more.   Registered Respiratory Therapists provide evidence-based clinical care to some of the most critically ill patients in the United States. Caring for adult, pediatric and/or neonatal patient populations, Registered Respiratory Therapists evaluate, treat and care for patients with a wide range of lung diseases and respiratory disorders, such as asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, emphysema, COPD and lung cancer. Registered Respiratory Therapists also perform other duties such as IV insertion, ECGs, peripheral phlebotomy and more.  A caregiver in this position works two 12-hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will:   Provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation to patients with respiratory insufficiencies.   Direct respiratory caregivers for delivery of care.   Implement and monitor patient care plans.   Assess patients for the appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop, implement and monitor patient care plans.   Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.  Perform advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluate respiratory practice, administer medications and treatments, and perform blood gas puncture and analysis.   Educate patients and families about the illness and provide information about community support groups and other programs.  Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program  Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care  Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board Licensure  Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through American Heart Association (AHA) and/or Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification when appropriate for site. Diploma and/or transcripts must be provided Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   Prior experience in an ICU or Emergency Department setting  Bachelor’s degree  Neonatal/pediatric experience preferred when appropriate for site. Prior experience performing invasive procedures preferred when appropriate for site. Physical Requirements: Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range. May require sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
