This role supports patient access to high-quality therapy services and emphasizes teamwork, innovation, and safe, patient-centered care. Pediatric experience is preferred.   Occupational Therapists at   Cleveland Clinic   work as part of a specialized, collaborative team within a large, respected organization. Employees   benefit   from a diverse pediatric caseload, a supportive team environment, excellent health care coverage,   additional   benefits, and a strong retirement plan—offering both professional fulfillment and long-term stability.   A caregiver in this position works   7 : 3 0 am   –   4 :30 pm   and requires flexibility to   float between   Main Campus or CCCHR. Holiday and Weekend requirements ( on-call   is part of weekend/up to 4 to   6 weekend days per 6 months).     A caregiver who excels in this role will:    Evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional,   cognitive   and/or psychosocial deficits which   impact   their abilities to successfully perform independent living skills.   Assess   patient 's   ability to   safely and effectively perform independent living skills and   design   the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment .   Implement the treatment plan using   appropriate modalities   and document subjective and objective findings of patient progress.   Educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.   Direct and   supervise   the activities of support personnel.   Act   a clinical instructor or   participate   in the education and evaluation of students.     Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:    Bachelor’s Degree   Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association    Current Ohio licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)    Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross       Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   Experience working with children   Physical Requirements: Ability to walk without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling. Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor. Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program. Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse. Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors. Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families. Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment.
