What’s the role? The Logistics and Facilities Manager oversees end-to-end logistics, non-product procurement, inventory management, and facility operations across ZEISS Canada’s North York and Mississauga locations. This role ensures the efficient movement, storage, and delivery of high-value medical, scientific, and industrial measurement equipment and supplies while maintaining strong supply chain processes, vendor performance, and regulatory trade compliance. The Manager leads a multi-site team responsible for daily warehouse and distribution activities, provides logistics support, and acts as the organization’s subject matter expert for supply chain and procurement matters. Here’s what you’ll do: Supervise and coordinate daily logistics operations, including receiving, inventory management, distribution and transportation of equipment and materials ensuring efficient operations and compliance to policy. Provide non-product procurement services to support our operations. Arrange and monitor delivery of high value equipment and supplies to ensure on time delivery. Assist the Head of Operations & Compliance with Facility operations of our two leased sites. Develop and implement policies, procedures and best practices to optimize efficiency, minimize costs, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards. Manage inventory levels and stock replenishment to support the organization’s needs while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Sales and Service admin departments, Finance, field staff and management to ensure consistent support. Lead and mentor direct reports, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster a high-performing and engaged team. Evaluate and select third-party logistics providers and non-product vendors, negotiate contracts and monitor service level to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation and delivery of goods. Contribute to operations planning, budgeting, and continuous improvement. Responsible for vendor relationships, compliance, and operational performance KPIs. Manage facilities maintenance contracts (cleaning, HVAC, security, waste, etc.) Maintain facility compliance with health & safety regulations Conduct emergency preparedness and business continuity planning Prepare export documentation Be the local logistics and procurement subject matter expert for all four business units Other duties as required. Do you qualify? University or college degree/diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or in a related field. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in logistics and people management, preferably in a medical/scientific environment or high value capital equipment distribution. Strong knowledge of logistics principles, practices, and technologies, with a focus on modern supply chain management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English required with ability in French and/or German an asset. Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively supervise, motivate, and develop a team of professionals. Proficiency in using logistics management software, inventory management system and MS Office applications; previous experience with SAP will be an asset. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. The annual pay range for this position is $89,000 – $111,000 The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
