To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What you'll be doing Business Development and On-going Relationship Management: Work to become a trusted advisor / strategic partner to middle market and large corporate clients, in addition to private equity firms and family offices. through regular contact, value-added ideas and relationship building interactions Create and drive strategy to acquire and/or expand and retain client relationships to generate revenue and deepen share of wallet. Identify product/service opportunities for other business units and participates in development of creative solutions to client needs, coordinates presentations, and brings in partners when appropriate. Manages risk/return and drives quality for new and/or existing clients. Actively identifies and mitigates different types of risk, such as regulatory, reputational, operational and credit risks. Client Onboarding/ Closing: Lend strategic support to Associates and Sr. Associates as well as the Credit and Services teams to execute client requests in an efficient and effective manner Collaborate with deal team on externally-facing closing activities as needed Client Portfolio Maintenance: Provides direction to Associates and Sr. Associates  in the preparation of the various internal portfolio monitoring reports (Leveraged Loan Trend Cards, 5-rated reviews, Shared National Credits, Criticized Asset Reports, etc.) Respond to approval requests for overdrafts, manual wires, NSF wires, ACH suspensions, etc. Risk Management: Understand the key parameters of the Bank’s Risk Appetite which will be of value as new credit opportunities are surfaced for the Bank’s Sr Mgmt. and Credit Risk Management teams to review Maintain regular dialogue with clients in order to be able to assess any changes in financial performance and coordinate with PMs to make recommendations as to changes in the Bank’s underlying risk ratings applied to each client At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. How you'll succeed Relationship building - Develop new client relationships through business development activities, leveraging referral sources, existing clients and centers of influence. Actively monitor and manage these relationships by fully understanding our clients’ goals, purpose and the status of our clients’ business. Teamwork - Work with internal partners to connect clients with opportunities. Commit to building a profile in the local business community in order to leverage that profile into effective working relationships with new and existing clients and internal partners. Client experience - Proactively assess your clients’ needs and propose solutions to deliver to meet those needs. Interact with assigned clients as necessary to facilitate prompt response to questions, enquiries or issues in order to provide “best in class” service. Apply acquired industry/company knowledge to the development of client/prospect proposals for financial and strategic solutions to meet client needs. Who you are You put our clients first. Knowledge & Skills Preferred Formal Education:  Bachelor's Degree Minimum 7-15 years of experience in Commercial Banking including experience in client relationship management and formal credit training. Strong ability in loan structuring and business development. Maintain active in industry events to maintain current market knowledge and client relationships. Completion of Commercial Banking Training Program or equivalent is desirable.
