Job Description:     Job Family Definition: Designs, analyzes, develops, modifies and evaluates electrical/electronic parts, components, sub-systems, algorithms, or integrated circuitry for electrical/electronic equipment and other hardware systems. Conducts feasibility studies, design margin and validation analyses and empirical testing on new and modified designs. Assists in architecture development and assessment. Evaluates reliability of materials, properties, designs, and techniques used in production. May direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Management Level Definition: Contributions include applying developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary. Might act as project lead and provide assistance to lower level professionals. Exercises independent judgment and consults with others to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. Responsibilities: Responsible for the categories of Passive, Discrete and common components new part and alternative sourcing. New part number application, component data sheet approval, 2nd source import for cost down and manage component EOL issue. Focus on the multiple source development and tracking component lifecycle. Designs, analyses and evaluates electrical/electronic parts, components, sub-systems, algorithms, or integrated circuitry for electrical/electronic equipment and other hardware systems. Conducts feasibility studies, design margin and validation analyses and empirical testing on new and modified designs. Assists in architecture development and assessment. Evaluates reliability of materials, properties, designs, and techniques used in production. May direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Support for server product post launch cost down opportunistic activities. Component Engineering focus and fulfilling activities in support of component management, multi sourcing compliance across boards, component BOM and cost control, scrub, understanding and compliance. Collaborates and communicates with management, internal hardware design engineer, and outsourced development partners regarding component design status, progress, and issue resolution. Component root cause analysis and improvement actions for component related issues. Provides domain-specific expertise and overall electrical/electronic hardware and platform leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities. Drive component selection and development processes as the common component subject matter expert. Collaborate with hardware design engineer for next generation cost and BOM readiness. Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members. Education and Experience Required: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. Typically 4-6 years experience. Knowledge and Skills: Using electrical design tools and software packages. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Designing electronic components, integrated circuitry, and algorithms Using empirical analysis, modeling and testing methodologies to validate component, circuit, and hardware designs and thermal/emissions management Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
