Summary Performs the set-up, testing and troubleshooting of X-ray tubes, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies. Determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from work instructions, drawings and diagrams. Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems. Will also perform loading/assembly of tubes for testing. May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems because of testing. Recommend solutions to technical problems. Coach and train other operators on testing techniques to improve individual and team performance. Becomes subject matter expert in tube testing and problem solving including: Trouble Shooting Generator Failures/Problems Trouble Shooting Test Failure ("E" codes, tube setup, coolant issues, etc.) Rad Leakage Trouble Shooting Maintain test equipment Perform MES edits X-ray tube assembly Repair testing supplies (test hoses, beam traps etc.) Advanced Digital focal spot trouble shooting (Temporarily changing test parameters) Close NCMR's Job Description * 15% Differential * Friday - Monday SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND CERTIFICATIONS Experience Level with Business Tools Proficient in utilizing business tools such as:  E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired. LEVEL DESCRIPTION Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks. Job Complexity Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations. Typical Education and Experience Associate's degree or equivalent 3 - 5 years of related experience   ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS   Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without accommodation. Medium work that will frequently require the employee to lift/move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift more than 75 lbs. to greater than 100 lbs. Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving heavy equipment and/or supplies frequently. Reaching above and below the shoulder frequently. Above-average agility and dexterity with the ability to hold, grasp and manipulate small parts and use hand and power tools constantly. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and handle physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, stretching, reaching, repetitive motion, or similar activities. Work environments include exposure to chemicals, electrical current, proximity to moving mechanical parts, repetitive hand motion, open flame, working from heights, cold environment, hot environment, uneven surface, fumes.
