Summary The position will report to the Senior Manager, Accounting. The Sr. Accountant plays a key role in the global accounting close process, internal controls, and reconciliations and may assist other departments. In this role, you will have the opportunity to advance your knowledge of the global accounting process, expand into other finance related areas, and use your newfound knowledge to improve processes. The ideal person for this position will have a demonstrated understanding of corporate accounting with experience in allocations, cash, prepaids, various accruals, and intercompany. They will have excellent technical and problem-solving skills, drive and focus on process improvement, and the ability to partner effectively across business functions. Job Description Assist   in the close reporting   process,   ensuring all financial deadlines are met.   Own and   assist   in aspects of monthly close, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations,   monitoring and preparing ad-hoc analyses .   Multi-entity   journal entries and reconciliations including, but not limited to   allocations ,   cas h,   prepaids,   accruals,   and   intercompany.   May   assist   with   quarterly   SEC Reporting ,   international entities ,   and/or   FP&A ,   as needed .   Prepare and review internal controls over financial reporting documentation to   comply with   the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (“SOX”) in line with the above processes .   Detailed GL account research to understand   and   comment on irregular patterns .   Assist   with   quarterly reviews and   year-end   audit   requests from   external auditors .       Prepare ad-hoc reports and perform other duties and special projects as assigned .       Drive and understand   process improvements , including automation,   and   work cross-functional l y.   REQUIREMENTS   B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field of study and   5+  years of related experience   Proficient with relevant computer applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint   Must have a strong financial close background and the ability to think critically.     PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS   CPA license   Understanding of US GAAP   Experience with SAP   Experience with foreign currency accountin g and international locations   Public accounting experience   ( minimum   1+ years)   Time Type: Full time Job Type: Regular Work Shift: First Shift Pay Rate Type: Salary Benefits and Perks Varex Imaging provides competitive pay and benefits to support the financial, physical, and emotional well-being of the people who make our company successful.
