Job Description: This job is responsible for defining and leading the engineering approach for complex features to deliver significant business outcomes. Key responsibilities of the job include delivering complex features and technology, enabling development efficiencies, providing technical thought leadership based on conducting multiple software implementations, and applying both depth and breadth in a number of technical competencies. Additionally, this job is accountable for end-to-end solution design and delivery. This role is an experienced Quality Engineer, who is responsible for building and leading a team to deliver technology products and services that meet business outcomes. Their primary responsibility is to the people they manage, ensuring they are developing through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands on career development. Other key responsibilities may include developing a technology strategy and ensuring technology solutions comply with applicable standards. This role advocates and advances modern, Agile solution delivery practices and evangelizes great design, engineering and organizational practices. This role brings a ‘testing mindset’ to the team and is responsible for testing and delivering complex software requirements to accomplish business outcomes. They are a subject matter expert on testing practices ensuring the testing strategy and processes are well-defined and continuously improved for the team or teams. Key responsibilities of the role include establishing a test and automation strategy, creating common test frameworks, defining and managing test processes including test data generation, defect management and reporting. Responsibilities: Ensures that the design and engineering approach for complex features are consistent with the larger portfolio solution Define the technology tool stack for the solution and evaluate and adapt new testing tool/framework/practices for team(s) Enables team(s)/applications with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) capabilities and engages with other technical stakeholders pertaining to efficient functioning of CI-CD pipeline Guides and influences team(s) on design and best practices for high code performance –e.g. pairing, code reviews Provides end-to-end delivery of complex features, including automation, for either a single team or multiple teams, at the program level Conducts research, design prototyping and other exploration activities such as evaluating new toolsets and components for release management, CI/CD, and features Works with stakeholders to establish high-level solution needs and with architects for technical requirements Required Qualifications: 10+ years of experience managing QA functions within payments, merchant services, or financial systems. Strong understanding of POS environments , merchant transaction flows, and payment system integrations. Hands‑on experience testing mobile applications (Flutter experience preferred). Proficiency with API testing and familiarity with ASP.NET application architectures. Expertise with test automation frameworks and tools such as Playwright , Selenium , or equivalent. Demonstrated experience building and maintaining automated UI test suites. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills. Proven success leading QA teams through planning, execution, and delivery of complex technology initiatives. Manage relationships with the business and technology leaders, and vendors for technical products. Be accountable for the application performance in production (app health, resiliency, performance, security, enterprise data management standards, audit exams and reviews). Create the technology testing strategy for their technical domain. Ensure that execution is aligned with product strategy by working with Product Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders. Create and optimize test processes including defect management and reporting. Create and optimize test automation frameworks and use of test automation tools. Create a test automation strategy across the application stack (UI, API, Backend and so on). Desired Qualifications: Experience in financial services, Merchant services, payments, or fintech industry. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and test integration tools.
