Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India Job ID: R0111476 Date Posted: 2026-02-05 Company Name: HITACHI ENERGY TECHNOLOGY SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED Profession (Job Category): Engineering & Science Job Schedule:  Full time Remote: No Job Description: The opportunity: As Control Application Engineer for FACTS application at INOPC-PQS, Chennai, you will be responsible for understanding the customer requirements, implementing the control logic, handle the Control and Protection System Hardware testing, performing Control Function testing in simulation environment, performing protection testing using secondary injection test sets, validating the test results, and handle project documentation. You need to collaborate with the senior engineers and with different disciplines, understand the different layers in the Control & Protection system that will help with troubleshooting issues and support other team members and achieve a time-bound and high-quality solution.   How you’ll make an impact: You will be responsible for control & Protection logics design and testing. You will integrate control & protection system and perform Functional tests. You will be performing protection testing using secondary injection test sets. You will be involving with Factory Acceptance Test, Project documents and Customer meetings. Ready to travel to sites for control & protection commissioning support. Ensure quality of deliverables and adhere to project execution process and time schedule. Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. Your background: Bachelor’s degree in electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE). Expertise and hands-on experience with IED’s from various OEM’s. Practical field experience in Testing & commissioning of Protection system, which is essential for ensuring system reliability and safety. Works independently, applying established standards. Proficiency in control and protection logic and interlocking schemes. Knowledge of IEC 61850 Communication protocol is vital for modern substation automation and interoperability. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
