Join Our Team as an Operations Technician – Millwright at Johnson Electric! Location: Ancaster, Ontario, Canada (onsite) Salary Range: $43.75 - $47.24 per hour Vacancy Type: Existing position Schedule: Continental 12‑hour rotating shifts (days & nights); overtime required.   As our next Operations Technician – Millwright , you’ll be at the forefront of performing repairs, troubleshooting, and maintaining mechanical and related equipment throughout our facility. Your expertise in industrial mechanics, equipment diagnostics, and technical interpretation will be crucial in driving our success and ensuring safe, reliable operations. What You’ll Be Doing: • Perform repairs on pumps, valves, actuators, motors, gears, hydraulics, mechanical drives, speed reducers, and related equipment. • Troubleshoot a wide range of mechanical equipment and recommend repair or replacement. • Interpret O&M manuals, diagrams, schematics, and technical prints; recommend improvements. • Organize and coordinate work with external contractors; inspect completed repairs for adherence to standards. • Respond to emergency equipment failures and support root‑cause diagnosis and repair. • Support the Region’s Special Projects Group with equipment installation, start‑up, and commissioning. • Use the computerized maintenance management system (EAM) to record work, source parts, track equipment history, and update task status. • Perform welding, pipe‑fitting, rigging, and additional duties as required. • Ensure all work complies with Safety Standards, OHSA requirements, IATF 16949, and ISO 14001. What We’re Looking For: • Secondary School Graduation Diploma + valid Certificate of Apprenticeship. • Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) in good standing. • 3–5 years of practical experience preferred. • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and EAM CMMS (asset). • Strong understanding of OHSA safety practices. • Ability to interpret manufacturer schematics, design drawings, and O&M manuals. Bonus Points If You Have: • Experience in welding, rigging, or mechanical fitting. • Exposure to powder metal manufacturing or heavy industrial environments. • Strong troubleshooting abilities in high‑demand production settings.
